CT Layouts using Popstar

Some months you get assigned to work with 2 different designers on Digitals CT, and that's what I've been doing this month. I've already shared the LOs I made using a kit by Georgia Oliver, and the other designer I've been fortunate to work with this month is Joyce de Jonge. Her kit Popstar is a kit exploding in color and glamour. Even so, I ended up making two layouts that are kind of mild in color ... go figure. Guess I'm in such a mode :)

First out is this layout, where my husband is playing guitar ... and the cats was curious.

Second, I used this kit to make a top 5 list for my BoM:

Project 52 Photos week 2 - 4

Realized I had forgotten to post the photos I've taken for the last weeks challenges at Gotta Pixel. Week 1 I posted here.

The challenge for week 2 was to play with the rule of third. I took tons of photos this week, it was great fun. I'd never used the grid on my camera before, so this was something new for me. LOVE it. The photo I ended up choosing for this challenge is this of my darling Luigi - isn't he the cutest ever????

Week 2 we were challenge to look for red. First thing I saw when I got downstairs, after reading the challenge, was this. DS just had had breakfast :)

A few days later I went for a walk, and I took this photo of the church just three houses away from us. Isn't it beautiful?

This week we are challenged to use the self-timer. I'm soooo happy - I hadn't noticed that I had a self-timer on my camera. Gee! I'm such an idiot! I got this camera from DH on my 40th birthday ... which means it took me almost 4 years to realize I have both grids and self-timer LOL

Love you darling!!!

Week 4 of 52

This layout is actually kind of a combination of the 52 inspirations challenge at Oscraps, and the Project 52 photo challenge at Gotta Pixel. I used the photo I took for the photo challenge on this LO.

Designer spotlight challenge at Oscraps Part 2

Well, I had to make another LO for this challenge, using the free mini kit. Perfect for a LO about coffee :)

Translation:
COFFEE
Fact: only Finns drink more coffee per person and year than us Swedes.
A Swede drinks about 150 litres of coffee every year.
50% Finn

I cannot imagine how many Swedes that doesn't drink coffee. 150 litres a year is way less than we drink in this family :D

Designer spotlight challenge at Oscraps

Oscraps designer spotlight challgenge are featuring Fei-fei's Stuff this week. The challenge is to make a 2-pager LO, using a patterned paper for background. I've never done a 2-pager LO before, but I gave it a try. Here's the result :)

The template is a freebie - go and get it :)

Last episode of Lost

Sometime during the 3rd season DH and I missed two episodes, and then we decided to watch the entire series when it was released on DVD. And now it's all over :(

CT layouts featuring winter :)

This month I'm happy to work with 2 designers at Digitals. Here are the two layouts I've made using Georgia Oliver's kit Little Bit O' Winter. And we sure have winter here LOL

Noticed I used the same snowman for both layouts, but there are two in the kit. Another adorable one with blue hat and scarf. Just as adorable :)

New LOs

Been doing some scrapping lately. First out is a LO I made for Biograffiti's Designer Spotlight Challenge at Oscraps. You're supposed to make a LO about something you wished you could go back in time and tell yourself.

Translation:
The person I am today would like to tell the person I was 20 years ago: "never start dieting". I wasn't fat, but all the diets made. If I hade been able to tell myself what I know today, I'd told me to start excercising more, and not to mind so much about my looks. If I'd done that, instead of trying diet after diet, I'd probably wouldn't have gained 30 kg. (30 kg = 66 lb)

Next is a follow-up challenge to the Project 52 photo challenge at Gotta Pixel. Easy enough - you just scrap the photo you took using a template.

Translation:
Ubbe just finished this book, and I thought I'd read it too. Haven't read that much yet, and I think it's kind of har to understand, but maybe it'll be better. I've never really been interested in evolution, but it might be interesting. It's never been important to me HOW the creation was done, it's enough for me THAT I am created. Creationists and evolutionists can argue all they want. It doesn't really matter where we're coming from, what matters is where we're going. In short: Revelations is more interesting than Genesis.

Last but not least - I made another LO for my Project 52 album. Watched The Jungle Book the other day, and I had a light-bulb moment, and chose a theme song for 2011. The lyrics in Swedish, though it's similar, really don't say the same. In Swedish, it says more that you should be happy with what you get, not that you should LOOK FOR the bare necessities. To pursuit nothing more than I need, that's my challenge for 2011!

My first layout for the 52 inspirations challenge. 2010 has been a FANTASTIC year - mainly because I love love love my house :)

1. The amount of snow in January
2. A crocheted hat - "the Olympics hat". It was a big hit here in Sweden, the Swedish olympic team had this hat, and everyone wanted one. Of course - I crocheted mine in other colors

4. A "cake" that was very popular this year here at our local bakery.
5. The "swamp" - the snow melted and everything was WET
6. Son playing Nintendo ... 24 - 7 - 365
7. Tekla - our turtle - eating strawberry
8. A sweet friend sending me a box of Cadbury's chocolate, when I told her I loved it, and that I couldn't get it here in Sweden
9. Packing!
10. Moving!
11. Our house
12. Me trying to read in our library - I've always wanted a library, and now we got one!
13. DH paying the last rent to our former landlord
14. The heater

Not much happened today

Really a lazy day. I've spent most of the time at Neopets. I'm trying to get the pack rat avatar ... I know ... I'm a geek :D

I did do some scrapping, even though if it was only to finish a thing that's been lurking in my files half done for ages. It was for a challenge at Tangie Baxter's blog ages ago.

Also, I joined the Project 52 Week Photo Challenge at Gotta Pixel. First challenge is to take a b/w photo. I ended up taking a photo of the book I'm currently reading:

The English title for the book is The Greatest Show on Earth, by Richard Dawkins. DH just read it, and I thought I'd do it too. It's about the evolution.

Long time no see

I've been neglecting the blog for a very long time, but starting the new year with a fresh look and a new post. Lots have happened since last time, most important: we've bought a house and moved! Yay! No more disturbing neighbors ... and I can take a bath in the middle of the night if I want to ... LOL

Here's a layout about it:

Translation:
I'd been looking at houses for a long while, but Ubbe wasn't keen at all on buying a house. But then this wonderful house caught our eyes and we fell in love. August 16 we went to the showing and August 25 we made the down payment. We were about to become house owners! September 30 we signed all papers and on October 4 we started to move into our new home.

I've just joined the 52 Inspirations 2011 at oscraps. We got the first kit today - Basics. Awesome kit! Check it out! I made a frontpage for the album I'll create during the year:
